Peer Support Connection

Peer Support is especially important for people who have lost a loved one to the Drug Crisis because grief can be complicated by stigma, anger, guilt, and the feeling that others simply do not understand. Connecting with someone who has experienced a similar loss can provide a safe place to speak openly without judgment or having to explain the unique realities of losing someone to addiction or an overdose. Peer support reminds grieving families that they are not alone and that their loved one’s life mattered beyond the circumstances of their death. It can also provide practical guidance, understanding, and hope as families learn to navigate grief and rebuild their lives. Most importantly, peer support creates a community where people can grieve together, honour their loved ones, and find strength in one another.

At The Legacy Mission, we understand the feelings you are experiencing because we have also lost loved ones to the Drug Crisis. It is our collective lived experience that guides our hearts to help others, without judgement. We know that sometimes, all that another person needs is a listening ear and to know they have been heard.

Currently, we are offering online private sessions at no charge.
